Cargo ship travel

Cargo by Jack Sender ... a love story

This is slow travel. An account of what occurred when Jack convinced Meridith to return from Rome as passengers on a cargo ship.

After flying to Holland and spending a few days seeing the sights, they boarded the Polish Cargo ship Isadora. They voyaged through the heavy vessel traffic of the English Channel, onto the Atlantic where they encountered stormy seas. Finally, after the length and the locks of the Saint Lawrence Seaway, made it to Lake Erie and port in Cleveland, Ohio. Food was good, the captain and his officers hospitable, ship pilots informative and the overall experience a marvelous adventure. Come aboard.

She didn't know what clothes to wear. He said it didn't matter, they weren't working their way, they were riding and looking out the window. The only rocking and rolling they did was when they were trying to sleep. The Polish food was good, new to their palate, but cooked with care by a real chef. They had books to read, harbor pilots and the ship's officers to meet, and a lot of sea to see on their way to America.

No phone, no pool, no pets
and no ice sculpture,
no dance floor or comic host.
Two took a cargo ship from Europe
across the Atlantic, through
the Saint Lawrence Seaway to Ohio.
Take the ride. Ride the waves.
