strangest audition

the strangest audition i ever did was
when they were looking for someone
to yell Hi-Ho-Silver for the
unsuccessful movie of the lone ranger
that was made around 1980.

That day i was at a recording
studio doing a commercial
and got a phone call from
the film production studio.
my agent said they would call.
I knew what they wanted.

So I take the call and
someone says, "Is this Jack Sender?"
and I said "yes." and then
the voice on the phone
said, "go ahead."

and i was supposed to
shout out hi ho silver.
and i did.  i think i had
two or three wacks at it.

and that was the strangest audition i ever did.
and no i didn't get the job,
but they auditioned everyone in town
so i think they were over loaded.

i remember hearing the winner
and he wasn't as good as
the original.
fred foy was the original show announcer.
i don't know
yelled hi-ho-silver,
unless it was
that masked man.
