lee van Cleef

I drifted in, not many people around at that hour. I was looking for a ready-made sandwich. In the back near the frozen foods I found them. As I went for tuna on rye, I noticed that there was a suspicious looking guy on the opposite side of the refrigerated case. We both stopped, arms outstretched, reaching down, going for our sandwiches. Aware of my stare, he slowly raised his gaze to my face. I stood frozen. I was looking directly into the steely eyes of one of the toughest gunslingers in the west. He had that heavy look they paid money for, the one that earned him roles in ninety movies. He shot me a dark, tight grin that gave me a chill, and told me he knew I recognized him. Just as quickly as we were both aware, that was it. We nodded and went our separate ways. It was a special moment to have a showdown with Lee Van Cleef. Excerpt from Hollywood Ways by jack Sender available at Amazon and Smashwords
